Steel, LLC is proud to announce that we have been awarded the structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection contract by Clayco for Rivian Automotive’s new Stamping and Automated Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS) facilities in Social Circle, Georgia.
The project represents another significant milestone for Steel LLC and will be one of the first major manufacturing buildings constructed on Rivian’s approximately 1,400-acre electric vehicle manufacturing campus. The new Stamping and ASRS facilities are expected to serve as foundational components of the campus, with many additional buildings planned over the next four to five years.
The contract includes the fabrication and erection of approximately 4,950 tons of structural steel, consisting of:
- Structural steel framing
- Heavy laced crane columns with crane support.
- Crane runway rails
- Skid storage rack structures
- Miscellaneous steel
- SP-6 Surface preparation and a two-coat shop-applied paint system
The combined facilities encompass approximately 135,000 square feet, with structural steel erection scheduled to begin in early February 2027.
The Stamping Facility will house the large presses that form steel into precision automotive body panels and structural components for Rivian’s electric vehicles, while the adjacent Automated Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS) will automatically store, organize, and deliver stamped parts and materials throughout the manufacturing process. Together, these facilities will help support efficient, high-volume production at Rivian’s new Georgia manufacturing campus.
